So COVID-19 is still making life amazing... officially we're facing "a minimum of three weeks distance learning" this school year. As someone working in health care, I totally get the need for this.... as a working mom, I'm so annoyed. It is what it is.
After this spring, I've learned a lot.
1) I suck as a teacher.
2) Working full-time while having two kids at home is a joke.
3) Our kitchen table can't be the kids' school.
I know know we need more structure, more storage, and a space dedicated to learning (along with a nanny or tutor to help with the proposed 12+ Zoom calls and online learning nonsense for two children daily).

This spring, we tried to leverage our kitchen table as the "classroom," and it was a joke. (See the chaotic kitchen example below.)
It isn't sexy or PB approved, but I ordered two narrow folding tables for the kids' work stations this fall. I want to build out beautiful homework desks for them someday (our play kitchen and farmer's market are using this valuable space now, and I don't want them to lose their childhood imagination station quite yet). Also, we need a place for the homeschool art and misc supplies so lots of storage is key.
